父老們，我寫信給你們，因為你們認識了那從起初就有的。青年人哪，我寫信給你們，因為你們強壯，上帝的道長存在你們裏面，你們也勝過了那邪惡者。

就轉過身來對門徒說：『一切都由我父交付了我；除了父，沒有一個知道子是誰；除了子和子所願意啓示的、也沒有一個知道父是誰。』

但你們呢、小子們，你們乃是屬於上帝的，並且已經勝過了他們；因為那在你們裏面的、比那在世界上的大。

我們知道凡由上帝而生的都不犯罪，是那由上帝而生的保守着他，而那邪惡者不能觸害着他。

一切都由我父交付了我；除了父，沒有一個認識子；除了子和子所願意啓示的，也沒有一個認識父。

他們必這樣行，是因為他們沒認識過父，也沒認識過我。

因為他專心愛我，我就解救他，保護他於高處，因為他認識我的名。

我們若守他的誡命，在這一點、我們就知道我們認識了他了。那說「我認識了他了」、而不守他誡命的、是撒謊的人；「真實」是不在這人裏面的。

健壯力乃青年人之光耀；白頭髮是老年人的尊榮。

我的小子們，我將這些話寫給你們，是要叫你們不犯罪。若有人犯罪，我們有一位代替申求者、那義者耶穌基督、在父那裏。

青年人以及處女，老年人跟孩童：願以上這些都頌讚永恆主的名；

使他們都合而為一，正如父你在我裏面，我也在你裏面，使他們也在我們裏面，叫世人相信是你差遣了我。

於是他們對耶穌說：『你的父在哪裏？』耶穌回答說：『你們不認識我，也不認識我的父；你們如果認識我，也就認識我的父了。』

凡聽天國之道而不領悟的，那邪惡者就來，把所撒在他心裏的攫了去：這就是撒在路旁的。

耶穌回答說：『我若榮耀我自己，我的榮耀就算不了甚麼。榮耀我的乃是我的父，就是你們所說是你們的上帝的，而你們不認識他，我卻認識他。我若說不認識他，就像你們一樣是撒謊者。但我真地認識他，並且遵守他的話。
