Here is what we announce to everyone about the Word of life. The Word was already here from the beginning. We have heard him. We have seen him with our eyes. We have looked at him. Our hands have touched him.

有關生命之道，是從太初就有的，是我們所聽到、所親眼看到、所觀察過、又親手摸過的——

維生之道、太初而有、我儕所聞所見、所瞻視而手捫者、

元始生命之道、余耳聞之、目擊之、手捫之、

太初所有生命之道、道或作言下同我儕所聞、親目所睹、我儕所觀、親手所捫者、

吾人所言者、乃元始生命之道、而亦吾人所曾耳濡目染、躬自瞻仰、親受撫摩者也。

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched— this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

This is what we proclaim to you: what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched( concerning the word of life–

Then he said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here. See my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

The Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. We have seen it and are witnesses to it.

Look at my hands and my feet. It’s really me! Touch me and see. A ghost does not have a body or bones. But you can see that I do.”

We told you about the time our Lord Jesus Christ came with power. But we didn’t make up clever stories when we told you about it. With our own eyes we saw him in all his majesty.God the Father gave him honor and glory. The voice of the Majestic Glory came to him. It said,“ This is my Son, and I love him. I am very pleased with him.”( Matthew 17:5; Mark 9:7; Luke 9:35)We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven. We were with him on the sacred mountain.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as if I were dead. Then he put his right hand on me and said,“ Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.I am the Living One. I was dead. But now look! I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys to Death and Hell.

“ Here is what I command you to write to the church in Smyrna. Here are the words of Jesus, who is the First and the Last. He is the one who died and came to life again. He says,

After his suffering and death, he appeared to them. In many ways he proved that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of 40 days. During that time he spoke about God’s kingdom.

He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood. His name is the Word of God.

There are three that are witnesses about Jesus.

The Lord says,“ Bethlehem Ephrathah, you might not be an important town in the nation of Judah. But out of you will come for me a ruler over Israel. His family line goes back to the early years of your nation. It goes all the way back to days of long ago.”

Fathers, I’m writing to you because you know the one who is from the beginning. Young men, I’m writing to you because you have won the battle over the evil one.Dear children, I’m writing to you because you know the Father. Fathers, I’m writing to you because you know the one who is from the beginning. Young men, I’m writing to you because you are strong. God’s word lives in you. You have won the battle over the evil one.

Who has made that happen? Who has carried it out? Who has created all the people who have ever lived? I, the Lord, have done it. I was with the first of them. And I will be with the last of them.”

“ The Lord created me as the first of his works, before his acts of long ago.I was formed a long, long time ago. I was formed at the very beginning, when the world was created.Before there were any oceans, I was born. It was before there were springs flowing with water.Before the mountains were settled in place, I was born. Before there were any hills, I was born.It happened before the Lord made the world and its fields. It was before he made the dust of the earth.I was there when he set the heavens in place. When he marked out the place where the sky meets the sea, I was there.That was when he put the clouds above. It was when he fixed the ocean springs in place.It was when he set limits for the sea so that the waters had to obey his command. When the Lord marked out the foundations of the earth, I was there.I was constantly at his side. I was filled with delight day after day. I was always happy to be with him.His whole world filled me with joy. I took delight in all human beings.

The voice said,“ Write on a scroll what you see. Send it to the seven churches in Asia Minor. They are Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”

The man who saw it has been a witness about it. And what he has said is true. He knows that he tells the truth. He is a witness so that you also may believe.
