牛碾穀、勿籠其口、

經云、碾穀之牛、勿籠其口、又云、工得其值、宜也、

此皆仰賴主、望主隨時賞賜食物、

萬類皆舉目仰望主、主隨時使其得食、主普施恩惠、使群生得飽、

試思烏鴉不稼不穡、無倉無庫、而天主養之、爾較禽鳥不愈貴乎、爾中孰能以思慮延命一刻乎、至微者爾尚不能、何思慮其餘乎、試思百合花、如何而長、不紡不織、我告爾、即所羅門極榮華之時、其服飾不及此花之一、且夫野草、今日尚存、明日投爐、天主衣被之若此、況爾曹小信者乎、

第七日為爾天主耶和華之安息日、是日爾與子女奴婢及牛驢諸牲畜、並居爾邑之外邦客旅、無論何工、皆不可作、使爾奴婢安息、與爾無異、

主以雲遮天、為地備雨、使山生長百草、賜食於走獸、賜食於嗁鳴之小鴉、

試觀空中之鳥、不稼不穡、不積於倉、爾在天之父且養之、爾曹不更貴於鳥乎、爾曹中孰能以思慮延命一刻乎、爾何為衣服憂慮乎、試觀野地之百合花、如何而長、不勞不紡、我告爾、即所羅門極榮華時、其服飾不及此花之一、且夫野草、今日尚存、明日投爐、天主衣被之若此、況爾小信者乎、

爾見同族人同族人原文作兄弟下同之牛羊迷於歧途、勿掩目掩目或作佯為下同不見、必反之於人、如其人離爾遠、或爾所不識、則牽至爾家、迨彼尋之、然後反之、其驢其衣、凡同族人所失之物、如爾遇之、俱必如是而行、勿掩目不見、乃必反之、爾見同族人之牛驢傾跌於途、勿掩目不見、必當助彼扶而起之、○

主使驢作人言、謂巴蘭曰、我何所獲罪於爾、爾乃策我三次、巴蘭曰、爾戲我、如我手有刃必殺爾、驢對巴蘭曰、我非爾自昔至今常乘之驢乎、我素向爾如此行否、曰否、當時主明巴蘭之目、見主之使者、手舉刃立於道、巴蘭鞠躬俯伏於地、主之使者謂之曰、爾三次策驢、何也、爾行此道逆我、故我出以阻爾、驢見我避我三次、驢若不避我、我已殺爾、使驢生存、巴蘭對主之使者曰、我有罪、未知爾立於道以阻我、爾若不悅我往、我則返、主之使者語巴蘭曰、爾姑與斯人偕往、惟我所諭爾之言、爾方可言、於是巴蘭與巴勒使臣偕往、
