For it is written in the Law of Moses,“ You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain.” Is it for oxen that God is concerned?

For it is written in the Law of Moses:“ Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” Is it about oxen that God is concerned?

Here is what is written in the Law of Moses.“ Do not stop an ox from eating while it helps separate the grain from the straw.”( Deuteronomy 25:4) Is it oxen that God is concerned about?

For the law of Moses says,“ You must not muzzle an ox to keep it from eating as it treads out the grain.” Was God thinking only about oxen when he said this?

For it is written in the law of Moses, Do not muzzle an ox while it treads out grain. Is God really concerned about oxen?

For it is written in the Law of Moses:“ You shall not muzzle the ox while it is threshing.” God is not concerned about oxen, is He?

For it is written in the law of Moses,“ You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it oxen God is concerned about?

For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn. Is it for the oxen that God careth,

For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?

For it is written in the law of Moses,“ Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” God is not concerned here about oxen, is he?

For it is written in the law of Moses,“ You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it for the oxen that God cares,

“ You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain.

For the Scripture says,“ You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and,“ The laborer deserves his wages.”

These all look to you, to give them their food in due season.

The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season.You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing.

Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!

but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.

He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills.He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry.

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

“ You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep going astray and ignore them. You shall take them back to your brother.And if he does not live near you and you do not know who he is, you shall bring it home to your house, and it shall stay with you until your brother seeks it. Then you shall restore it to him.And you shall do the same with his donkey or with his garment, or with any lost thing of your brother’s, which he loses and you find; you may not ignore it.You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fallen down by the way and ignore them. You shall help him to lift them up again.

Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam,“ What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?”And Balaam said to the donkey,“ Because you have made a fool of me. I wish I had a sword in my hand, for then I would kill you.”And the donkey said to Balaam,“ Am I not your donkey, on which you have ridden all your life long to this day? Is it my habit to treat you this way?” And he said,“ No.”Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, with his drawn sword in his hand. And he bowed down and fell on his face.And the angel of the Lord said to him,“ Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to oppose you because your way is perverse before me.The donkey saw me and turned aside before me these three times. If she had not turned aside from me, surely just now I would have killed you and let her live.”Then Balaam said to the angel of the Lord,“ I have sinned, for I did not know that you stood in the road against me. Now therefore, if it is evil in your sight, I will turn back.”And the angel of the Lord said to Balaam,“ Go with the men, but speak only the word that I tell you.” So Balaam went on with the princes of Balak.

And should not I pity Nineveh, that great city, in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know their right hand from their left, and also much cattle?”
