應該想一想烏鴉：牠們不撒種，也不收割，沒有倉也沒有庫，神尚且養活牠們；更何況你們，你們比飛鳥還重要呢！你們當中誰能因著憂慮使自己的壽命延長一刻呢？因此，你們如果連最小的事也不能做，為什麼還要為其他的事憂慮呢？「應該想一想百合花是怎麼生長的：它不勞動，也不紡織。但是我告訴你們：就連所羅門在他最榮耀的時候，所穿戴的也不如這些花中的一朵。你們這些小信的人哪！野地裡的草今天還在，明天就被丟進火爐裡，神尚且這樣裝扮它，更何況你們呢！

他用烏雲遮蓋天空，為大地預備雨水，使群山長出青草。他賜糧食給走獸，也給啼叫的烏鴉幼雛。

應該看天空的飛鳥：牠們不撒種、不收割，也不收集在倉庫裡，你們的天父尚且養活牠們；難道你們不比飛鳥更重要嗎？你們當中誰能因著憂慮使自己的壽命延長一刻呢？你們為什麼為衣服憂慮呢？應該觀察野地裡的百合花是怎麼生長的：它們不勞動，也不紡織。但是我告訴你們：就連所羅門在他最榮耀的時候，所穿戴的也不如這些花中的一朵。你們這些小信的人哪！野地裡的草今天還在，明天就被丟進火爐裡，神尚且這樣裝扮它，更何況你們呢！

更何況尼尼微大城，其中有超過十二萬人不能分辨自己的左右手，還有許多牲畜，我難道不顧惜嗎？」
