Don’t we have the right to bring a believing wife with us as the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers do, and as Peter does?

豈無權娶信女攜之同行、如他使徒、及主之兄弟、與磯法乎、

宗主之姊妹、余非得娶乎、如他使徒、及主之兄弟、與磯法然、

我豈無權娶女弟為妻、攜之同行、如他使徒、及主之兄弟與磯法乎、

又豈無權攜一奉主之婦人出門傳道、一如其他宗徒、與主之諸弟、以及基法之所為耶？

Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas?

Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife with us when we travel? The other apostles do. The Lord’s brothers do. Peter does.

Do we not have the right to take along a believing wife, as do the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?

Don’t we have the right to be accompanied by a believing wife like the other apostles, the Lord’s brothers, and Cephas?

Do we not have a right to take along a believing wife, even as the rest of the apostles and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

Have we no right to lead about a wife that is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

Don’t we have the right to be accompanied by a Christian wife like the other apostles, the Lord’s brothers, and Cephas?

Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and[ as] the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

Do we not have the right to the company of a believing wife, like the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas?

Have we no right to take along a wife who is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus. Looking intently at Simon, Jesus said,“ Your name is Simon, son of John— but you will be called Cephas”( which means“ Peter”).

When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother in law was sick in bed with a high fever.

But I wish everyone were single, just as I am. Yet each person has a special gift from God, of one kind or another.

They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.

Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

The only other apostle I met at that time was James, the Lord’s brother.

So a church leader must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach.

You have captured my heart, my treasure, my bride. You hold it hostage with one glance of your eyes, with a single jewel of your necklace.Your love delights me, my treasure, my bride. Your love is better than wine, your perfume more fragrant than spices.

An elder must live a blameless life. He must be faithful to his wife, and his children must be believers who don’t have a reputation for being wild or rebellious.

Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters.

You are my private garden, my treasure, my bride, a secluded spring, a hidden fountain.

Then they scoffed,“ He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.” They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.

As Jesus was speaking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him.Someone told Jesus,“ Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to speak to you.”Jesus asked,“ Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”Then he pointed to his disciples and said,“ Look, these are my mother and brothers.Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!”

( But if the husband or wife who isn’t a believer insists on leaving, let them go. In such cases the believing husband or wife is no longer bound to the other, for God has called you to live in peace.)

A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. If her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but only if he loves the Lord.

Some of you are saying,“ I am a follower of Paul.” Others are saying,“ I follow Apollos,” or“ I follow Peter,” or“ I follow only Christ.”

I have entered my garden, my treasure, my bride! I gather myrrh with my spices and eat honeycomb with my honey. I drink wine with my milk. Oh, lover and beloved, eat and drink! Yes, drink deeply of your love!I slept, but my heart was awake, when I heard my lover knocking and calling:“ Open to me, my treasure, my darling, my dove, my perfect one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.”

I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a deacon in the church in Cenchrea.

Then they scoffed,“ He’s just the carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers— James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas.

After the wedding he went to Capernaum for a few days with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples.

Matthew, Thomas, James( son of Alphaeus), Simon( who was called the zealot),

Now Simon’s mother in law was sick in bed with a high fever. They told Jesus about her right away.

They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanks by faithful people who know the truth.
