All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

All who take part in the games train hard. They do it to get a crown that will not last. But we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable crown.

Everyone who competes in the games exercises self control in all things. So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

And every man that striveth in the games exerciseth self- control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. However, they do it to receive a crown that will fade away, but we a crown that will never fade away.

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they[ do it] to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil will throw some of you into prison to test you. You will suffer for ten days. But if you remain faithful even when facing death, I will give you the crown of life.

And athletes cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules.

Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.And now the prize awaits me— the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown.

and knowledge with self control, and self control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness,

And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never ending glory and honor.

and we have a priceless inheritance— an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.

gentleness, and self control. There is no law against these things!

For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.

After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.

Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:“ Death is swallowed up in victory.

Twenty four thrones surrounded him, and twenty four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads.

Rather, he must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must love what is good. He must live wisely and be just. He must live a devout and disciplined life.

Teach the older men to exercise self control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience.

the twenty four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne( the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say,
