All who take part in the games train hard. They do it to get a crown that will not last. But we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.

Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable crown.

Everyone who competes in the games exercises self control in all things. So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

And every man that striveth in the games exerciseth self- control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

Don’t be afraid of what you are going to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you. You will be treated badly for ten days. Be faithful, even if it means you must die. Then I will give you life as your crown of victory.

It is the same for anyone who takes part in a sport. They don’t receive the winner’s crown unless they play by the rules.

Fight the good fight along with all other believers. Take hold of eternal life. You were chosen for it when you openly told others what you believe. Many witnesses heard you.

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.Now there is a crown waiting for me. It is given to those who are right with God. The Lord, who judges fairly, will give it to me on the day he returns. He will not give it only to me. He will also give it to all those who are longing for him to return.

Blessed is the person who keeps on going when times are hard. After they have come through hard times, this person will receive a crown. The crown is life itself. The Lord has promised it to those who love him.

‘ I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have. Then no one will take away your crown.

To knowledge, add the ability to control yourselves. To the ability to control yourselves, add the strength to keep going. To the strength to keep going, add godliness.

The Chief Shepherd will come again. Then you will receive the crown of glory. It is a crown that will never fade away.

He has given us new birth so that we might share in what belongs to him. This is a gift that can never be destroyed. It can never spoil or even fade away. It is kept in heaven for you.

and gentle and having control of oneself. There is no law against things of that kind.

Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world.So put on all of God’s armor. Evil days will come. But you will be able to stand up to anything. And after you have done everything you can, you will still be standing.So remain strong in the faith. Put the belt of truth around your waist. Put the armor of godliness on your chest.Wear on your feet what will prepare you to tell the good news of peace.Also, pick up the shield of faith. With it you can put out all the flaming arrows of the evil one.Put on the helmet of salvation. And take the sword of the Holy Spirit. The sword is God’s word.At all times, pray by the power of the Spirit. Pray all kinds of prayers. Be watchful, so that you can pray. Always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

We are receiving a kingdom that can’t be shaken. So let us be thankful. Then we can worship God in a way that pleases him. Let us worship him with deep respect and wonder.

You struggle against sin. But you have not yet fought to the point of spilling your blood.

In fact, that is going to happen. What does not last will be dressed with what lasts forever. What dies will be dressed with what does not die. Then what is written will come true. It says,“ Death has been swallowed up. It has lost the battle.”( Isaiah 25:8)

Twenty- four other thrones surrounded that throne. Twenty- four elders were sitting on them. The elders were dressed in white. They had gold crowns on their heads.

Instead, a church leader must welcome people into his home. He must love what is good. He must control his mind and feelings. He must do what is right. He must be holy. He must control the desires of his body.

Tell the older men that in anything they do, they must not go too far. They must be worthy of respect. They must control themselves. They must have true faith. They must love others. They must not give up.

At the same time, the 24 elders fall down and worship the one who sits on the throne. He lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns in front of the throne. They say,
