并且我做这一切，都是为了福音的缘故，好使我能成为在福音上一同有份的人。

凡我所行的，都是为福音的缘故，为要与人同得这福音的好处。

我所為者、皆為福音而為、致我與人共與之、

吾為福音行是、欲與爾同受大賚、

我為福音行此、欲與人共得福音之益、○

吾之所為、莫非為福音之故；惟如此、始克共承福音所許之惠耳。

I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

所以，我为了那些蒙拣选的人忍受一切，好让他们也能得到那在基督耶稣里的救恩和永恒的荣耀。

因为凡想要保全自己生命的，将失去生命；凡为我和福音的缘故失去自己生命的，将保全生命。

每一个参加比赛的人，都要在一切事上自制；不过他们这样做是为了得到会朽坏的冠冕，而我们是为了得到不会朽坏的冠冕。因此，我奔跑不像没有目标的；我斗拳不像打空气的；然而我不断克制自己的身体，使它服从我，免得我传道给别人，自己反而经不起考验了。

因为我们如果把那起初的确信，坚定地持守到底，我们就成为基督的同伴了。

如果别人能从你们那里分享这权利，我们不是更能分享吗？然而，我们并没有用过这权利，反而凡事包容，免得给基督的福音带来阻碍。

劳苦做工的农夫，应该先享受果实。

我们把所看到、所听到的也向你们宣扬，好使你们也能够与我们相契合；而我们又是与父和他的儿子耶稣基督相契合的。

我在极大的患难和内心的痛苦中，流了许多泪水写给你们，并不是要使你们忧伤，而是要你们知道我对你们怀有更多的爱。

故此，蒙了属天召唤的同伴们，圣洁的弟兄们！你们应该思想我们信仰告白中的使者和大祭司——耶稣。

我们对这些人，一刻也没有屈服妥协，好使福音的真理在你们中间继续存留。

所以，我这同做长老的、做基督苦难见证人的、也在那将要显现的荣耀中有份的，我恳求你们中间的长老们：
