然則我之賞維何、即宣福音、使人不費而得之、免我盡用福音之權也、

我自詡何歟、即傳基督福音、未嘗傷人之財、雖有權、而我不妄用其權、

然則我之賞何歟、即我傳基督之福音、使人無所費而得、不妄用我在福音所有之權、

然則吾果無報酬乎？曰：正惟吾傳福音而不受酬、而不享受權利、酬在其中矣。

What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights as a preacher of the gospel.

Then what reward do I get? Here is what it is. I am able to preach the good news free of charge. And I can do this without using all my rights as a person who preaches the good news.

What then is my reward? That in my preaching I may present the gospel free of charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

What then is my pay? It is the opportunity to preach the Good News without charging anyone. That’s why I never demand my rights when I preach the Good News.

What is my reward then?[ Verily] that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

我们不是传自己，而是传耶稣基督为主，并且自己因耶稣作你们的仆人。

只有我和巴拿巴没有权利不做工吗？有谁当兵而自备粮饷呢？有谁栽葡萄园而不吃园里的果子呢？有谁牧养牛羊而不喝牛羊的奶呢？

可是，你们要谨慎，免得你们这自由竟成了软弱人的绊脚石。

也从未白吃人的饭，倒是辛苦劳碌，昼夜做工，免得使你们中间有人受累。这并不是因我们没有权柄，而是要给你们作榜样，好让你们效法我们。

但要像我一样，凡事都使众人喜欢，不求自己的益处，只求众人的益处，使他们得救。

享受这世界的，不像在享受这世界；因为这世界的局面将要过去了。

我们作为基督的使徒，虽然可以受人尊重，却没有向你们或向别人求荣耀，反而在你们当中心存温柔，如同母亲哺乳自己的孩子。

我贬低自己，为了使你们高升，因为我白白地传神的福音给你们，难道这算是我犯了错吗？我剥夺了别的教会，向他们取了报酬来效劳你们。我在你们那里有缺乏的时候，并没有连累你们一个人，因为我所缺乏的，那些从马其顿来的弟兄都补足了。我向来凡事谨慎，将来也必谨慎，总不要连累你们。

除了我不曾连累你们这一件事，你们还有什么事不及别的教会呢？这不公平之处，请你们饶恕我吧。如今，我准备第三次到你们那里去。我仍不会连累你们，因为我所求的是你们，不是你们的财物。儿女不该为父母积财，父母该为儿女积财。我也甘心乐意为你们的灵魂费财费力。难道我越爱你们，就越少得你们的爱吗？罢了，我自己并没有连累你们，你们却有人说，我施诡诈，用心计牢笼你们。我所差遣到你们那里去的人，我何曾藉着他们中的任何人占过你们的便宜呢？我劝提多到你们那里去，又差遣那位弟兄与他同去，提多占过你们的便宜吗？我们的行事为人不是同一心灵吗？不是同一步伐吗？

你若因食物使弟兄忧愁，就不是按着爱心行事。基督已经为他死，你不可因你的食物使他败坏。
