For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a commission nonetheless.

若予之傳道為出於自動、則受酬宜也、今既有所受命、則在予為一受託之義務而已。

If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.

If I preach because I want to, I get a reward. If I preach because I have to, I’m only doing my duty.

For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward, but if not of my own will, I am still entrusted with a stewardship.

If I were doing this on my own initiative, I would deserve payment. But I have no choice, for God has given me this sacred trust.

For if I do this willingly, I have a reward, but if unwillingly, I am entrusted with a commission.

For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship.

For if I do this of mine own will, I have a reward: but if not of mine own will, I have a stewardship intrusted to me.

But on the contrary, seeing that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised

Now the one who plants and the one who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

This is the way any person is to regard us: as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not with greed but with eagerness;nor yet as domineering over those assigned to your care, but by proving to be examples to the flock.And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

If anyone’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward.

And the people blessed all the men who volunteered to live in Jerusalem.

but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not intending to please people, but to please God, who examines our hearts.

But Jonah got up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to Joppa, found a ship that was going to Tarshish, paid the fare, and boarded it to go with them to Tarshish away from the presence of the Lord.

For if the willingness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

the latter do it out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel;the former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition rather than from pure motives, thinking that they are causing me distress in my imprisonment.

But it greatly displeased Jonah, and he became angry.Then he prayed to the Lord and said,“ Please Lord, was this not what I said when I was still in my own country? Therefore in anticipation of this I fled to Tarshish, since I knew that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abundant in mercy, and One who relents of disaster.So now, Lord, please take my life from me, for death is better to me than life.”

if indeed you have heard of the administration of God’s grace which was given to me for you;that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before briefly.By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,which in other generations was not made known to mankind, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,

“ But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given to You.
