But I have not used any of these rights. And I am not writing this in the hope that you will do such things for me, for I would rather die than allow anyone to deprive me of this boast.

For my part I have used none of these rights, nor have I written these things that they may be applied in my case. For it would be better for me to die than for anyone to deprive me of my boast!

爾何事不及他會耶、惟我不累爾而已、此不韙請恕我、○今我欲就爾者三、亦不累爾、以我所求者爾也、非爾所有也、蓋子不必為親蓄、乃親為子焉、我為爾靈、欣然委身盡己矣、我愈愛爾、而愈鮮見愛乎、或云我雖不累爾、而以詭計取爾、遣人就爾、豈因之賺爾乎、我勸提多就爾、亦遣一兄弟偕之、提多豈賺爾乎、我儕非同一神而履一迹乎、○

掃羅殘害教會、入諸家、執男女、下之獄、○

然我不以己生為意、而貴之、惟欲盡我程途、及由主耶穌所授之職、以證上帝恩惠之福音、

依我之企望、概無所愧、而毅然如常、今或生或死、基督將於我身丕顯、蓋我之生即基督、死亦有益、若生於形軀、成我功果、則不知當何擇也、蓋我迫於二者之間、欲歸與基督偕在、是為愈美、
