他人尚操此權於爾中、況我儕乎、然我儕未用此權、寧忍一切、免阻基督之福音、

他人尚且對爾享此權利、況吾儕乎？然吾儕向未行使此權、而甘受困乏者、蓋不欲在基督福音道上、置任何之障礙也。

If others have this right of support from you, shouldn’t we have it all the more? But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ.

Others have the right to receive help from you. Don’t we have even more right to do so? But we didn’t use that right. No, we have put up with everything. We didn’t want to keep the good news of Christ from spreading.

If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.

If you support others who preach to you, shouldn’t we have an even greater right to be supported? But we have never used this right. We would rather put up with anything than be an obstacle to the Good News about Christ.

If others have this right to receive benefits from you, don’t we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right; instead, we endure everything so that we will not hinder the gospel of Christ.

If others share the right over you, do we not more? Nevertheless, we did not use this right, but we endure all things so that we will cause no hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more? Nevertheless we have not used this right, but endure all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ.

If others partake of this right over you, do not we yet more? Nevertheless we did not use this right; but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

那麼我的賞報是甚麼呢？就是：我傳福音，使福音成為免費可得的，免得我在福音上一味享用我的權利。

但我現在所作的、將來還要作，好截掉那些願得機會之人的機會，使他們在所誇口的事上能被人看出是企圖要跟我們平等。

至於我呢、這些個、我全沒享用過。我寫了這些話，並不是要人這樣待我。我寧可死，也不願意人使我的誇耀落了空。

我卑抑了自己、讓你們升高，將上帝的福音傳給你們，使你們免費就獲得到，是犯了罪麼？我「搶」別的教會，取了工價，好服事你們！我在你們那裏有缺乏時，並沒有累着你們一個人；因為我的缺乏、從馬其頓來的弟兄都補足了。我向來凡事自守、不連累你們，將來也必自守。我指着在我裏面的基督之真誠來說！這誇口、在亞該亞地帶、是不會在我身上被堵住的。

你們律法師有禍啊！因為你們把知識的鑰匙拿了去，自己不進入，連那正進入的、你們也攔阻。』

你們彼此有訴訟的事，這已絕對是你們的失敗了！為甚麼不寧願受冤枉呢？為甚麼不寧願受詐取呢？

大家一同計謀要來攻打耶路撒冷，使城內擾亂。

直到現在這一點鐘，我們還是又饑又渴、又赤身裸體、又挨拳打、飄泊無定，勞勞苦苦，親手作工；被辱罵，我們就祝福；受逼迫，我們就忍受；

因為他們同手藝，就和他們同住作工：以手藝說、他們是製造帳棚的。

在任何事上、對任何人、我們都沒有引起碰倒人的因由，免得這執事的職分受挑剔。

因此許多次我總被截斷了去路、不能到你們那裏去。

僕人對他們說：『別躭延我啦；永恆主既使我的路順利，就請讓我走，我好回我主人那裏去。』

假若對別人我不是使徒，對你們我總是的；因為你們在主裏、正是我有使徒職分的印記。

也沒有白喫過甚麼人的飯，倒是辛苦勞碌、黑夜白日地作工，免得加重你們任何人的負擔。這不是說我們沒有權利，我們乃是要將自己給你們做榜樣，讓你們效法我們。

所以你們要儆醒，記得我三年之久、晝夜不停地流淚勸戒你們每一個人。如今我把你們託付於上帝和他恩惠之道，就是能建立你們，能在一切成聖別的人中間將遺業賜給你們的。我沒有貪圖過一個人的金銀或服裝。你們自己知道，我這兩隻手供應了我和我同伴的需用。

我寫這些話、不是要叫你們羞愧，乃是要勸戒你們、像我親愛的兒女一樣。在基督裏、你們縱然有上萬的童年導師，父親卻不多；因為是我在基督耶穌裏、藉着福音生了你們。

我們做基督的使徒、雖能居於受人尊重之地位，卻不向人求榮耀，不向你們，也不向別人；不，我們在你們中間反而溫和柔順，如同乳母撫育自己的兒女一般。

若有人壓制你們做奴隸，若有人吞喫你們，若有人牢籠你們，若有人向你們昂首傲慢，若有人打你們的臉，你們就容忍他！

除了我本人不連累你們這一件事以外，你們還有甚麼被壓下、以致不如其餘的教會呢？這個委屈、你們饒恕我吧！你看，這是我準備好了、要第三次到你們那裏去的；我也不會連累你們。因為我求的並不是你們的財物，乃是你們自己；因為不是兒女為父母積蓄，而是父母為兒女。
