祭司回答大卫：“我手中没有普通的饼，只有圣饼。只有那些没有亲近过女人的年轻人，才可以吃的。”大卫回答祭司说：“像以往我出征的时候一样，这次我们出征前，确实没有亲近女人。虽然这是一次普通的任务，众仆人的器皿还是清洁的，何况今天这些器皿更加是清洁的。”

耶稣对他们说：“这话不是每个人都能领受的，只有赐给谁，谁才能领受。

他们询问万军之耶和华殿里的众祭司，以及众先知说：“我们还要在五月哭泣和禁食，像我们这许多年来所行的吗？”

但耶稣说：“撒但，走开！经上记着：‘当拜主你的神，单要事奉他。’”

因此，我既然不能再忍下去，就派人去打听你们的信心怎样；恐怕那试探人的诱惑了你们，以致我们的劳苦白费了。
