人人都应该尊重婚姻，婚床也不要玷污，因为神一定审判淫乱的和奸淫的人。

关于你们信上所提的事:“男人不亲近女人倒好”。但为了避免淫乱的事，男人应当各有自己的妻子，女人也应当各有自己的丈夫。

我愿你们无所挂虑。没有娶妻子的人，挂念的是主的事，想怎样去得主喜悦；但娶了妻子的人是为世上的事挂虑，想怎样去讨妻子的欢心，这样他就分心了。没有结婚的妇女和守独身的女子，挂念的是主的事，好让身体和心灵都成为圣洁；但结了婚的妇女是为世上的事挂虑，想怎样去讨丈夫的欢心。

我现在要对未婚的人和寡妇说，他们若保持像我这样就好了；

但如果他心里坚决，没有什么不得已的原因，又可以控制自己的意志，决心让女朋友持守独身；这样作也是好的。

为了目前的困难，我认为人最好能保持现状。
