我这样说是为了你们的好处，不是要束缚你们，是要鼓励你们做合宜的事，好叫你们殷勤、专心事奉主。

人不结婚的原因很多，有些是因为先天的缺陷，有些是被人阉了，也有些是为了天国而自己放弃结婚的权利。谁能接受，就让他接受吧。”

不过，为了避免发生淫乱的事，男婚女嫁也合情合理。

男婚女嫁并不是犯罪，只是有家室的人总免不了许多人生的苦恼，我是盼望你们能够免去这些苦恼。

种子落在荆棘丛中是指人听了道，后来被生活的忧虑、钱财和享乐缠住了，以致结不出成熟的果实来。

淫乱、同性恋、拐卖人口、说谎、起假誓的人，以及其他违反正道的人。

最后，弟兄姊妹，你们要思想一切真实、可敬、公义、纯洁、可爱、有好名声、有美德和值得赞许的事情。

劝年长的妇女要过敬虔的生活，不说长道短，不做酒的奴隶，要以身作则。

夫妻不可亏负彼此的需要，除非双方同意，才可以暂时分房，以便专心祈祷。以后，二人仍要恢复正常的夫妻生活，免得撒旦趁你们情不自禁的时候引诱你们。我这番话是准许你们结婚，并不是命令你们结婚。虽然我希望人人都像我一样独身，但每个人从上帝所领受的恩赐不同，有的是这样，有的是那样。至于那些未婚的和寡居的，他们若能像我一样就好了。但如果他们不能自制，就应该结婚，因为与其欲火攻心还不如结婚为好。

玛大为了招待客人忙乱不已，于是上前对耶稣说：“主啊，我妹妹让我一个人伺候大家，你都不管吗？请你叫她来帮帮我吧。”耶稣对她说：“玛大，玛大，你为太多事情忧虑烦恼。其实最要紧的事只有一件，玛丽亚选择了上好的，是夺不走的。”

“你们要小心，不要被宴乐、醉酒和人生的挂虑所拖累，免得那日子像网罗般突然临到你们，

一切淫乱、污秽或贪婪的事在你们当中连提都不要提，才合乎圣徒的身份。
