Those who use the things of the world should not become all wrapped up in them. The world as it now exists is passing away.

用世物的，要像不用世物，因为这世界的样子将要过去了。

享受这世界的，不像在享受这世界；因为这世界的局面将要过去了。

享受这世界的，不像在享受这世界；因为这世界的局面将要过去了。

享用世界之物的，不要沉溺其中，因为现今的世界很快就要过去了。

享用世上百物的要像没有享用的一样，因为这世上的情况都要过去。

利用世界的，要像没有充分利用世界的；因为这世界的形态正在消逝。

用世物的，要像不用世物，因為這世界的樣子將要過去了。

享受這世界的，不像在享受這世界；因為這世界的局面將要過去了。

享受這世界的，不像在享受這世界；因為這世界的局面將要過去了。

享用世界之物的，不要沉溺其中，因為現今的世界很快就要過去了。

用世當若遺世；蓋斯世之形形色色、皆如雲煙過眼、瞬即杳矣。

and those who deal with the world as though they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is passing away.

Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away.

and those who use the world as though they did not make full use of it. For this world in its current form is passing away.

and those who use the world, as though they did not make full use of it; for the present form of this world is passing away.

and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.

and those that use the world, as not using it to the full: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

and those who use the world as though they did not make full use of it. For this world in its current form is passing away.

And they that use this world, as not abusing[ it]: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

those who use the world as though they were not using it to the full. For the present shape of this world is passing away.

and those who use the world, as not using it to the fullest. For the mode of this world passes away.

The world and its evil desires are passing away. But whoever does what God wants them to do lives forever.

The end of all things is near. So be watchful and control yourselves. Then you may pray.

“ Be careful. If you aren’t, your hearts will be loaded down with wasteful living, drunkenness and the worries of life. Then the day the Son of Man returns will close on you like a trap. It will happen suddenly.

People are only shadows as they go here and there. They rush around, but it doesn’t mean anything. They pile up wealth, but they don’t know who will finally get it.

It is written,“ All people are like grass. All their glory is like the flowers in the field. The grass dries up. The flowers fall to the ground.

Go and enjoy your food. Be joyful as you drink your wine. God has already approved what you do.Always wear white clothes to show you are happy. Anoint your head with olive oil.You love your wife. So enjoy life with her. Do it all the days of this meaningless life God has given you on earth. That’s what he made you for. That’s what you get for all your hard work on earth.No matter what you do, work at it with all your might. Remember, you are going to the place of the dead. And there isn’t any work or planning or knowledge or wisdom there.

You don’t even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? It is a mist that appears for a little while. Then it disappears.

People should be happy and do good while they live. I know there’s nothing better for them to do than that.Each of them should eat and drink. People should be satisfied with all their hard work. That is God’s gift to them.

Then what reward do I get? Here is what it is. I am able to preach the good news free of charge. And I can do this without using all my rights as a person who preaches the good news.

People come and people go. But the earth remains forever.

Then he said to them,“ Watch out! Be on your guard against wanting to have more and more things. Life is not made up of how much a person has.”Then Jesus told them a story. He said,“ A certain rich man’s land produced a very large crop.He thought to himself,‘ What should I do? I don’t have any place to store my crops.’“ Then he said,‘ This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones. I will store my extra grain in them.I’ll say to myself,“ You have plenty of grain stored away for many years. Take life easy. Eat, drink and have a good time.” ’“ But God said to him,‘ You foolish man! Tonight I will take your life away from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’“ That is how it will be for whoever stores things away for themselves but is not rich in the sight of God.”

“ Again, here is what the kingdom of heaven will be like. A man was going on a journey. He sent for his slaves and put them in charge of his money.He gave five bags of gold to one. He gave two bags to another. And he gave one bag to the third. The man gave each slave the amount of money he knew the slave could take care of. Then he went on his journey.The slave who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work. He earned five bags more.The one with the two bags of gold earned two more.But the man who had received one bag went and dug a hole in the ground. He hid his master’s money in it.“ After a long time the master of those slaves returned. He wanted to collect all the money they had earned.The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five.‘ Master,’ he said,‘ you trusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have earned five more.’“ His master replied,‘ You have done well, good and faithful slave! You have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’“ The man with two bags of gold also came.‘ Master,’ he said,‘ you trusted me with two bags of gold. See, I have earned two more.’“ His master replied,‘ You have done well, good and faithful slave! You have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’“ Then the man who had received one bag of gold came.‘ Master,’ he said,‘ I knew that you are a hard man. You harvest where you have not planted. You gather crops where you have not scattered seed.So I was afraid. I went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’“ His master replied,‘ You evil, lazy slave! So you knew that I harvest where I have not planted? You knew that I gather crops where I have not scattered seed?Well then, you should have put my money in the bank. When I returned, I would have received it back with interest.’“ Then his master commanded the other slaves,‘ Take the bag of gold from him. Give it to the one who has ten bags.Everyone who has will be given more. They will have more than enough. And what about anyone who doesn’t have? Even what they have will be taken away from them.

“‘ You have done well, my good slave!’ his master replied.‘ You have been faithful in a very small matter. So I will put you in charge of ten towns.’“ The second slave came to his master. He said,‘ Sir, your money has earned five times as much.’“ His master answered,‘ I will put you in charge of five towns.’“ Then another slave came. He said,‘ Sir, here is your money. I have kept it hidden in a piece of cloth.I was afraid of you. You are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in. You harvest what you did not plant.’“ His master replied,‘ I will judge you by your own words, you evil slave! So you knew that I am a hard man? You knew that I take out what I did not put in? You knew that I harvest what I did not plant?Then why didn’t you put my money in the bank? When I came back, I could have collected it with interest.’“ Then he said to those standing by,‘ Take his money away from him. Give it to the one who has ten times as much.’“‘ Sir,’ they said,‘ he already has ten times as much!’“ He replied,‘ I tell you that everyone who has will be given more. But here is what will happen to anyone who has nothing. Even what they have will be taken away from them.

Command people who are rich in this world not to be proud. Tell them not to put their hope in riches. Wealth is so uncertain. Command those who are rich to put their hope in God. He richly provides us with everything to enjoy.Command the rich to do what is good. Tell them to be rich in doing good things. They must give freely. They must be willing to share.

But rich people should take pride in their low positions. That’s because they will fade away like wild flowers.The sun rises. Its burning heat dries up the plants. Their blossoms fall. Their beauty is destroyed. In the same way, rich people will fade away. They fade away even as they go about their business.

I have seen what is good. It is good for a person to eat and drink. It’s good for them to be satisfied with their hard work on this earth. That’s what they should do during the short life God has given them. That’s what God made them for.Sometimes God gives a person wealth and possessions. God makes it possible for that person to enjoy them. God helps them accept the life he has given them. God helps them to be happy in their work. All these things are gifts from God.A person like that doesn’t have to think about how their life is going. That’s because God fills their heart with joy.

Try to succeed by doing many things. After all, you don’t know what great trouble might come on the land.

You rich people, listen to me. Cry and weep, because you will soon be suffering.Your riches have rotted. Moths have eaten your clothes.Your gold and silver have lost their brightness. Their dullness will be a witness against you. Your wanting more and more will eat your body like fire. You have stored up riches in these last days.You have even failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields. Their pay is crying out against you. The cries of those who gathered the harvest have reached the ears of the Lord. He rules over all.You have lived an easy life on earth. You have given yourselves everything you wanted. You have made yourselves fat like cattle that will soon be butchered.

But suppose that slave is evil. Suppose he says to himself,‘ My master is staying away a long time.’Suppose he begins to beat the other slaves. And suppose he eats and drinks with those who drink too much.The master of that slave will come back on a day the slave doesn’t expect him. He will return at an hour the slave does not know.

Jesus told his disciples another story. He said,“ There was a rich man who had a manager. Some said that the manager was wasting what the rich man owned.So the rich man told him to come in. He asked him,‘ What is this I hear about you? Tell me exactly how you have handled what I own. You can’t be my manager any longer.’

A dream goes away when a person wakes up. Lord, it will be like that when you rise up. It will be as if those people were only a dream.

A person can’t do anything better than eat, drink and be satisfied with their work. I’m finally seeing that those things also come from the hand of God.Without his help, who can eat or find pleasure?

You young people, be happy while you are still young. Let your heart be joyful while you are still strong. Do what your heart tells you to do. Go after what your eyes look at. But I want you to know that God will judge you for everything you do.So drive worry out of your heart. Get rid of all your troubles. Being young and strong doesn’t have any meaning.
