But this I say, brothers, the time has been shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none;

第有一語、不得不為兄弟告者、即人生在世、為日無多；故有妻當若無妻、

What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not;

This is what I mean, brothers: the appointed time has grown very short. From now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none,

But let me say this, dear brothers and sisters: The time that remains is very short. So from now on, those with wives should not focus only on their marriage.

But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none,

But this I say, brethren, the time is shortened, that henceforth both those that have wives may be as though they had none;

Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we first believed.The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let’s rid ourselves of the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Come now, you who say,“ Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.”Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are just a vapor that appears for a little while, and then vanishes away.Instead, you ought to say,“ If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil.

So then, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.

and those who use the world, as though they did not make full use of it; for the present form of this world is passing away.

The world is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God continues to live forever.

“ Lord, let me know my end, And what is the extent of my days; Let me know how transient I am.Behold, You have made my days like hand widths, And my lifetime as nothing in Your sight; Certainly all mankind standing is a mere breath. SelahCertainly every person walks around as a fleeting shadow; They certainly make an uproar for nothing; He amasses riches and does not know who will gather them.“ And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.

The conclusion, when everything has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

You have swept them away like a flood, they fall asleep; In the morning they are like grass that sprouts anew.In the morning it flourishes and sprouts anew; Toward evening it wilts and withers away.For we have been consumed by Your anger, And we have been terrified by Your wrath.You have placed our guilty deeds before You, Our hidden sins in the light of Your presence.For all our days have dwindled away in Your fury; We have finished our years like a sigh.As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is only trouble and tragedy; For it quickly passes, and we disappear.

A voice says,“ Call out.” Then he answered,“ What shall I call out?” All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.The grass withers, the flower fades, When the breath of the Lord blows upon it; The people are indeed grass!The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.

For,“ All flesh is like grass, And all its glory is like the flower of grass. The grass withers, And the flower falls off,

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.

The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.

then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.“ Futility of futilities,” says the Preacher,“ all is futility!”

For who knows what is good for a person during his lifetime, during the few years of his futile life? He will spend them like a shadow. For who can tell a person what will happen after him under the sun?

Behold, the Lord lays the earth waste, devastates it, twists its surface, and scatters its inhabitants.And the people will be like the priest, the servant like his master, the female servant like her mistress, the buyer like the seller, the lender like the borrower, the creditor like the debtor.

“ Man, who is born of woman, Is short lived and full of turmoil.Like a flower he comes out and withers. He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.

As for man, his days are like grass; Like a flower of the field, so he flourishes.When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, And its place no longer knows about it.
