This is what I mean, brothers and sisters: The time is limited, so from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none,

這一點、弟兄們、我卻要說：時期縮短了。今後有妻子的、要像沒有一樣；

弟兄們，我要說這一點：時候不多了！從此有妻子的，要像沒有妻子的；

兄弟乎、我姑言之、時日促矣、今而後有妻者當如無妻、

兄弟乎、吾言今而後、窘逼之時也、故有妻者、當如無妻、

兄弟乎、所餘之時無幾、故有妻者當如無妻、

第有一語、不得不為兄弟告者、即人生在世、為日無多；故有妻當若無妻、

What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not;

Besides this, since you know the time, it is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep, because now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.The night is nearly over, and the day is near; so let us discard the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Come now, you who say,“ Today or tomorrow we will travel to such and such a city and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.”Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring— what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes.Instead, you should say,“ If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”But as it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing his disgrace.For we do not have an enduring city here; instead, we seek the one to come.

and those who use the world as though they did not make full use of it. For this world in its current form is passing away.

And the world with its lust is passing away, but the one who does the will of God remains forever.

“ LORD, make me aware of my end and the number of my days so that I will know how short-lived I am.In fact, you have made my days just inches long, and my life span is as nothing to you. Yes, every human being stands as only a vapor. SelahYes, a person goes about like a mere shadow. Indeed, they rush around in vain, gathering possessions without knowing who will get them.“ Now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in you.

When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: fear God and keep his commands, because this is for all humanity.For God will bring every act to judgment, including every hidden thing, whether good or evil.

You end their lives; they sleep. They are like grass that grows in the morning—in the morning it sprouts and grows; by evening it withers and dries up.For we are consumed by your anger; we are terrified by your wrath.You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.For all our days ebb away under your wrath; we end our years like a sigh.Our lives last seventy years or, if we are strong, eighty years. Even the best of them are struggle and sorrow; indeed, they pass quickly and we fly away.

A voice was saying,“ Cry out!” Another said,“ What should I cry out?”“ All humanity is grass, and all its goodness is like the flower of the field.The grass withers, the flowers fade when the breath of the LORD blows on them; indeed, the people are grass.The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.”

For All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like a flower of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls,

Whatever your hands find to do, do with all your strength, because there is no work, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.

The end of all things is near; therefore, be alert and sober-minded for prayer.

Dear friends, don’t overlook this one fact: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.

and the dust returns to the earth as it once was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.“ Absolute futility,” says the Teacher.“ Everything is futile.”

For who knows what is good for anyone in life, in the few days of his futile life that he spends like a shadow? Who can tell anyone what will happen after him under the sun?

Look, the LORD is stripping the earth bare and making it desolate. He will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants:people and priest alike, servant and master, female servant and mistress, buyer and seller, lender and borrower, creditor and debtor.

Anyone born of woman is short of days and full of trouble.He blossoms like a flower, then withers; he flees like a shadow and does not last.

As for man, his days are like grass— he blooms like a flower of the field;when the wind passes over it, it vanishes, and its place is no longer known.
