Was anyone at the time of his call already circumcised? Let him not seek to remove the marks of circumcision. Was anyone at the time of his call uncircumcised? Let him not seek circumcision.

For instance, a man who was circumcised before he became a believer should not try to reverse it. And the man who was uncircumcised when he became a believer should not be circumcised now.

有几个信了主的法利赛人站起来说：“外族的信徒必须接受割礼，而且还要遵守摩西的律法。”

“所以，我认为不应该为难那些信上帝的外族人。

因为圣灵和我们都认为不应把重担加在你们身上。但请务必注意以下几件事，

“听说有几个人从我们这里去了你们那里，教导你们必须接受割礼并遵守摩西的律法。他们的言论使你们大感困惑。其实我们从来没有授权他们这样做。

基督释放了我们，是要我们得自由。所以，要站稳了，不要再被奴仆的轭辖制。听着！我保罗郑重地告诉你们，如果你们接受割礼，基督对你们就毫无益处。我再次警告所有接受割礼的人，他们必须遵守全部的律法。

有几个从犹太下来的人教导弟兄们说：“你们若不照着摩西的规条接受割礼，就不能得救。”保罗和巴拿巴为这件事与他们激烈地辩论，最后大家决定派保罗、巴拿巴和几个当地的信徒上耶路撒冷去跟使徒和长老讨论这件事。

从此，不再分希腊人、犹太人，受割礼的、未受割礼的，野蛮人、未开化的人，奴隶和自由人，基督就是一切，并且贯穿一切。
