To the married I give this command( not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband.

I give a command to those who are married. It is a direct command from the Lord, not from me. A wife must not leave her husband.

To the married I give this charge( not I, but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband

But for those who are married, I have a command that comes not from me, but from the Lord. A wife must not leave her husband.

But to the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife is not to leave her husband

Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband.

But unto the married I give charge, yea not I, but the Lord, That the wife depart not from her husband

And unto the married I command,[ yet] not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from[ her] husband:

To the married I give this command– not I, but the Lord– a wife should not divorce a husband

but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.

Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. He who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery.

Pharisees came to him, testing him, and saying,“ Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”He answered,“ Haven’t you read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female,and said,‘ For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh?’So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart.”They asked him,“ Why then did Moses command us to give her a certificate of divorce, and divorce her?”He said to them,“ Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so.I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery.”

Yet you say,‘ Why?’ Because Yahweh has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant.Did he not make you one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? Why one? He sought godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.One who hates and divorces”, says Yahweh, the God of Israel,“ covers his garment with violence!” says Yahweh of Armies.“ Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don’t be unfaithful.

He said to them,“ Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.If a woman herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery.”

“ Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so you have dealt treacherously with me, house of Israel,” says Yahweh.

Yet if the unbeliever departs, let there be separation. The brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us in peace.

But to the rest I— not the Lord— say, if any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she is content to live with him, let him not leave her.

But she is happier if she stays as she is, in my judgment, and I think that I also have God’s Spirit.

But this I say by way of concession, not of commandment.

Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment from the Lord, but I give my judgment as one who has obtained mercy from the Lord to be trustworthy.
