夫爾曹相訟、其失已甚、盍寧受枉受虧乎、

爾曹爭訟、其過大矣、孰若受害受虧為美、

爾彼此爭訟、已為爾之大過、何不忍以受欺、何不忍以受虧乎、

又有進者、兄弟間有爭訟之事、已屬不是；孰若甘心抱屈、犯而不校之為善乎？

The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

When you take another believer to court, you have lost the battle already. Why not be treated wrongly? Why not be cheated?

To have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?

Even to have such lawsuits with one another is a defeat for you. Why not just accept the injustice and leave it at that? Why not let yourselves be cheated?

As it is, to have legal disputes against one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather suffer the wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?

Nay, already it is altogether a defect in you, that ye have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather take wrong? why not rather be defrauded?

Therefore, to have legal disputes against one another is already a moral failure for you. Why not rather put up with injustice? Why not rather be cheated?

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather[ suffer yourselves to] be defrauded?

Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written,“ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully.For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:“ Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

Do not say,“ I will recompense evil”; Wait for the Lord, and He will save you.

But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also.And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either.

He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints.Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path.When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,

Their heart is divided; Now they are held guilty. He will break down their altars; He will ruin their sacred pillars.

Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.
