But instead, one believer sues another— right in front of unbelievers!

乃兄弟相訟、且於不信者前乎、

乃兄弟爭訟且訟於不信者前乎、

乃兄弟與兄弟相訟、且於不信者前歟、

而必欲對簿於外教人之前乎？

But instead, one brother takes another to court— and this in front of unbelievers!

Instead, one believer goes to court against another. And this happens in front of unbelievers!

but brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?

Instead, brother goes to court against brother, and that before unbelievers!

but brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers?

But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!

but brother goeth to law with brother, and that before unbelievers?

Instead, believer goes to court against believer, and that before unbelievers!

But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

Instead, does a Christian sue a Christian, and do this before unbelievers?

But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers!

“ The next day he visited them again and saw two men of Israel fighting. He tried to be a peacemaker.‘ Men,’ he said,‘ you are brothers. Why are you fighting each other?’

Do everything without complaining and arguing,so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.

Even to have such lawsuits with one another is a defeat for you. Why not just accept the injustice and leave it at that? Why not let yourselves be cheated?

So Joseph sent his brothers off, and as they left, he called after them,“ Don’t quarrel about all this along the way!”

If anyone claims,“ I am living in the light,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is still living in darkness.Anyone who loves a fellow believer is living in the light and does not cause others to stumble.But anyone who hates a fellow believer is still living and walking in darkness. Such a person does not know the way to go, having been blinded by the darkness.

Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?

So disputes broke out between the herdsmen of Abram and Lot.( At that time Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land.)Finally Abram said to Lot,“ Let’s not allow this conflict to come between us or our herdsmen. After all, we are close relatives!The whole countryside is open to you. Take your choice of any section of the land you want, and we will separate. If you want the land to the left, then I’ll take the land on the right. If you prefer the land on the right, then I’ll go to the left.”

This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead.Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them.

At the meeting I said to them,“ We are doing all we can to redeem our Jewish relatives who have had to sell themselves to pagan foreigners, but you are selling them back into slavery again. How often must we redeem them?” And they had nothing to say in their defense.Then I pressed further,“ What you are doing is not right! Should you not walk in the fear of our God in order to avoid being mocked by enemy nations?

When one of you has a dispute with another believer, how dare you file a lawsuit and ask a secular court to decide the matter instead of taking it to other believers!

How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe.Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.
