作盜賊、貪污、沉湎、謗人、勒索之徒、未有能承受天主之國者也。

Neither will thieves or those who always want more and more. Neither will those who are often drunk or tell lies or cheat. People who live like that will not receive God’s kingdom.

You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you.When you see a thief, you join with him; you throw in your lot with adulterers.

Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord.

Your rulers are rebels, partners with thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow’s case does not come before them.
