Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all slander.Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow up into your salvation,

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor’s headquarters. It was early morning. They did not enter the headquarters themselves; otherwise they would be defiled and unable to eat the Passover.So Pilate came out to them and said,“ What charge do you bring against this man?”They answered him,“ If this man weren’t a criminal, we wouldn’t have handed him over to you.”

For I fear that perhaps when I come I will not find you to be what I want, and you may not find me to be what you want. Perhaps there will be quarreling, jealousy, angry outbursts, selfish ambitions, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder.I fear that when I come my God will again humiliate me in your presence, and I will grieve for many who sinned before and have not repented of the moral impurity, sexual immorality, and sensuality they practiced.

Indeed, this is our boast: The testimony of our conscience is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you, with godly sincerity and purity, not by human wisdom but by God’s grace.

The Festival of Unleavened Bread to the LORD is on the fifteenth day of the same month. For seven days you must eat unleavened bread.

“ The Passover to the LORD comes in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month.On the fifteenth day of this month there will be a festival; unleavened bread is to be eaten for seven days.

because you are still worldly. For since there is envy and strife among you, are you not worldly and behaving like mere humans?

I am not saying this as a command. Rather, by means of the diligence of others, I am testing the genuineness of your love.
