It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning.

因為審判會外人的事、與我何干呢？豈不是你們審判會內人，

其實審判外面的人，到底與我有什麼關係呢？你們難道不該審判裡面的人嗎？

蓋會外者與我何涉而擬之、爾之所擬、非會內者乎、

會以外與我何與、顧定擬之、而會以內、乃不能定擬乎、

蓋教會外者、我何為擬定之、爾當擬定者、非教會內之人乎、

夫外界之人何與於我、我亦何所用其評騭。吾人所欲評騭者、非會中人乎？

What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?

Is it my business to judge those outside the church? Aren’t you supposed to judge those inside the church?

For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?

For what business is it of mine to judge outsiders? Don’t you judge those who are inside?

For what business of mine is it to judge outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church?

For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?

For what have I to do with judging them that are without? Do not ye judge them that are within?

He replied,“ You are permitted to understand the secret of the Kingdom of God. But I use parables for everything I say to outsiders,

Also, people outside the church must speak well of him so that he will not be disgraced and fall into the devil’s trap.

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.

Even though I am not with you in person, I am with you in the Spirit. And as though I were there, I have already passed judgment on this manin the name of the Lord Jesus. You must call a meeting of the church. I will be present with you in spirit, and so will the power of our Lord Jesus.Then you must throw this man out and hand him over to Satan so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and he himself will be saved on the day the Lord returns.

When one of you has a dispute with another believer, how dare you file a lawsuit and ask a secular court to decide the matter instead of taking it to other believers!Don’t you realize that someday we believers will judge the world? And since you are going to judge the world, can’t you decide even these little things among yourselves?Don’t you realize that we will judge angels? So you should surely be able to resolve ordinary disputes in this life.If you have legal disputes about such matters, why go to outside judges who are not respected by the church?I am saying this to shame you. Isn’t there anyone in all the church who is wise enough to decide these issues?

Jesus replied,“ Friend, who made me a judge over you to decide such things as that?”

Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.

Jesus answered,“ My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world.”
