对于他们，这世代的神把这些不信之人的心眼弄瞎了，使他们不能洞察基督荣耀的福音之光。基督就是神的形像。

如果你们属于这世界，世界会把你们做为属自己的来爱；但是，因为你们不属于这世界，而是我从世界中拣选了你们，所以世界就恨你们。

于是那巨龙被摔了下来。它就是那古蛇，被称为魔鬼和撒旦，那迷惑普天下的。它被摔在地上，它的使者们也与它一起被摔了下来。

智慧人在哪里？经文士在哪里？这世代的雄辩家在哪里？神难道不使这世界的智慧成了愚拙吗？

“你从世上所赐给我的人，我已经把你的名向他们显明了。他们是你的，你把他们赐给了我，他们也遵守了你的话语。

好使你们成为无可指责、纯洁无伪的人，在这扭曲、败坏的世代中，做神毫无瑕疵的儿女；在这世代中，要像星星的光辉一样照耀在世上。

在其中，你们从前行事为人，是顺着这世界的潮流，顺着那空中势力的掌权者，就是现今在那些不信从的儿女里面做工的灵。

“你们是世界的光。建在山上的城是不能隐藏的；人点亮了油灯，也不会放在斗底下，而会放在灯台上，它就照亮屋子里所有的人。同样，你们的光也应当照耀在人前，使他们看见你们的美好工作，就荣耀你们在天上的父。

耶稣对他们说：“你们从下面来，我从上面来；你们属于这世界，我不属于这世界。
