誰使爾自異乎、爾何有而非受之乎、既受之、何自誇如未受乎、

爾為師、誰令爾大過人乎、爾未受時、原無所有、則受之後、何誇為固有、

爾異乎人、誰使爾異、爾何所有而非受之乎、既受之何誇似未受乎、

夫爾之優越、孰令致之？爾所有之一切、何一而非受之於主耶？既有所受、又安得自誇其所有、一若未之受耶？

For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

For what gives you the right to make such a judgment? What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?

For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you didn’t receive? If, in fact, you did receive it, why do you boast as if you hadn’t received it?

For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? but if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received it?

For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you didn’t receive? If, in fact, you did receive it, why do you boast as if you hadn’t received it?

For who maketh thee to differ[ from another]? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive[ it], why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received[ it]?

For who concedes you any superiority? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as though you did not?

For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn’t receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

John replied,“ A person can receive not even one thing unless it has been given to him from heaven.

As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the multifaceted grace of God.

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

However, since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to use them properly: if prophecy, in proportion to one’s faith;

Yours, Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and on the earth; Yours is the dominion, Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.Now therefore, our God, we thank You, and praise Your glorious name.“ But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given to You.For we are strangers before You, and temporary residents, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no hope.Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided to build You a house for Your holy name, it is from Your hand, and everything is Yours.

For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

O king, the Most High God granted sovereignty, greatness, honor, and majesty to Nebuchadnezzar your father.

in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.But we should always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

And many were bringing gifts to the Lord at Jerusalem and valuable presents to Hezekiah king of Judah; so thereafter he rose in the sight of all nations.In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill; and he prayed to the Lord, and the Lord spoke to him and gave him a sign.But Hezekiah did nothing in return for the benefit he received, because his heart was proud; therefore wrath came upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem.However, Hezekiah humbled the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come on them in the days of Hezekiah.Now Hezekiah had immense riches and honor; and he made for himself treasuries for silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields, and all kinds of valuable articles,also storehouses for the produce of grain, wine, and oil; stalls for all kinds of cattle, and sheepfolds for the flocks.He made cities for himself and acquired flocks and herds in abundance, because God had given him very great wealth.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,whom He richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior,so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

And he called ten of his own slaves and gave them ten minas, and said to them,‘ Do business with this money until I come back.’

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles in behalf of His name,

but you have risen up against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your nobles, your wives, and your concubines have been drinking wine out of them; and you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor understand. But the God in whose hand are your life breath and all your ways, you have not glorified.

The king began speaking and was saying,‘ Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the honor of my majesty?’While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven, saying,‘ King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: sovereignty has been removed from you,and you will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling place will be with the animals of the field. You will be given grass to eat like cattle, and seven periods of time will pass over you until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.’

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service,even though I was previously a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost.

“ For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them.To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey.

that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before briefly.By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,which in other generations was not made known to mankind, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;

In that night God appeared to Solomon and said to him,“ Ask what I shall give you.”And Solomon said to God,“ You have dealt with my father David with great faithfulness, and have made me king in his place.Now, Lord God, Your promise to my father David is fulfilled, for You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.Now give me wisdom and knowledge, so that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this great people of Yours?”Then God said to Solomon,“ Because this was in your heart, and you did not ask for riches, wealth, or honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor did you even ask for long life, but you asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge so that you may rule My people over whom I have made you king,wisdom and knowledge have been granted to you. I will also give you riches, wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings who were before you has possessed, nor will those who will come after you.”

So then, it does not depend on the person who wants it nor the one who runs, but on God who has mercy.For the Scripture says to Pharaoh,“ For this very reason I raised you up, in order to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed throughout the earth.”So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.

Speak and say,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, The great monster that lies in the midst of his canals, That has said,‘ My Nile is mine, and I myself have made it.’

“ Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre,‘ The Lord God says this:“ Because your heart is haughty And you have said,‘ I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods In the heart of the seas’; Yet you are a mortal and not God, Although you make your heart like the heart of God—Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; There is no secret that is a match for you!By your wisdom and understanding You have acquired riches for yourself And have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries.By your great wisdom, by your trade You have increased your riches, And your heart is haughty because of your riches—

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

Yet I wish that all men were even as I myself am. However, each has his own gift from God, one in this way, and another in that.

Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough?

What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one.

The people repeatedly cried out,“ The voice of a god and not of a man!”And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.
