But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have.

辭別曰：『天主如可、吾當重來。』乃起椗、離依法所、

厥後、葆樂決意經馬其頓、亞該亞往耶路撒冷；自言至耶路撒冷後、必將一遊羅馬。

予之第三次就爾、即在目前。證以二三人之口、言言足徵。曩者與爾晤時、予曾告諸犯罪者及其他同人、予若重來、決不有所優容。今方暌隔、亦欲一申舊命、莫謂言之不預也。作此言者、實為寓吾心中之基督。基督對爾、非屬柔弱無能；於爾之身、實操有大權；爾豈欲嘗試之乎？蓋彼雖一度憑其柔德、而被釘以死、今則憑天主大能而生矣。吾人茲亦秉其柔德、惟對於爾曹、吾儕亦當憑天主大德、而與基督共生也。

主若許可、當能力求深造矣。

爾中有人、近頗言大而誇、一若我無再來爾處之可能也者。

爾如曰：『主若願者我儕當可仍在人間、而致力於其事；』則言之得體矣。

遍歷其境、多所勸勗；至希臘、

然吾意已定、下次決不願與爾等以憂戚相見。吾苟使爾等憂戚、又誰能使我歡樂？豈吾所使憂戚之人、轉能令吾歡樂耶？

飢則可食於家、庶幾免乎因聚會而獲咎也。餘事俟吾親來部署。

吾固願爾等皆能操方言、顧吾尤望爾等能作預言。蓋操方言者、苟非自譯以裨會眾、則不若預言之為愈也。

使我得依天主之旨、以歡欣鼓舞之情緒、到達爾處、且得在爾處稍事休息、則幸甚矣。

吾呼天主為證、吾之所以未來格林多者、乃為爾等着想、不欲予爾等以難堪耳。

在此互相信任之情緒中、吾本擬先就爾處、俾爾有所進益；復自爾處前往馬其頓、再由馬其頓回至爾處、最後乃自爾處啟程、而赴猶太。當吾之存此意念也、決非以輕率出之、亦非徇於私情而定、其後又任意變更計劃、忽爾非其所是、是其所非也。

予目前須赴馬其頓一行；此行既畢、當赴爾處。

雖然、吾人所傳之道、在完善之人視之、乃真智慧也；非斯世之智慧、亦非世上王公大人終歸烏有者之智慧。
