I am writing this not to shame you but to warn you as my dear children.

as you know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children,

For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

Now for the third time I am ready to come to you. And I will not be burdensome to you; for I do not seek yours, but you. For the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.

Why? Because I do not love you? God knows!

I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren?

Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

O Corinthians! We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open.You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections.Now in return for the same( I speak as to children), you also be open.

Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul.”

Again, do you think that we excuse ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ. But we do all things, beloved, for your edification.

Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

I do not say this to condemn; for I have said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together.

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.

But I have used none of these things, nor have I written these things that it should be done so to me; for it would be better for me to die than that anyone should make my boasting void.
