I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn[ you].

I am writing this not to shame you but to warn you as my dear children.

As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father[ doth] his children,

Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.

Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.

I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

O[ ye] Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.Now for a recompence in the same,( I speak as unto[ my] children,) be ye also enlarged.

Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous[ man], that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but[ we do] all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak[ this] to your shame.

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

I speak not[ this] to condemn[ you]: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with[ you].

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all[ men].

But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for[ it were] better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.
