Many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.Then the Lord said to Paul in a night vision,“ Don’t be afraid, but keep on speaking and don’t be silent.For I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to hurt you, because I have many people in this city.”And he stayed there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became God-given wisdom for us— our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption,

Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?

While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions and came to Ephesus. He found some disciples

You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, recognized and read by everyone.It is clear that you are Christ’s letter, produced by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God— not on stone tablets but on tablets that are hearts of flesh.We have this kind of confidence toward God through Christ.It is not that we are competent in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our competence is from God.

Planted in the house of the Lord, they thrive in the courts of our God.They will still bear fruit in old age, healthy and green,to declare:“ The Lord is just; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”

For I would not dare say anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to make the Gentiles obedient by word and deed,

After greeting them, he related in detail what God did among the Gentiles through his ministry.

God has spoken once; I have heard this twice: strength belongs to God,

Unless the Lord builds a house, its builders labor over it in vain; unless the Lord watches over a city, the watchman stays alert in vain.

For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we were among you for your benefit,

For as the earth produces its growth, and as a garden enables what is sown to spring up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.

Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Or who shepherds a flock and does not drink the milk from the flock?Am I saying this from a human perspective? Doesn’t the law also say the same thing?For it is written in the law of Moses, Do not muzzle an ox while it treads out grain. Is God really concerned with oxen?Or isn’t He really saying it for us? Yes, this is written for us, because he who plows ought to plow in hope, and he who threshes should do so in hope of sharing the crop.If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it too much if we reap material benefits from you?

Now brothers, I want to clarify for you the gospel I proclaimed to you; you received it and have taken your stand on it.You are also saved by it, if you hold to the message I proclaimed to you— unless you believed for no purpose.For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve.Then He appeared to over 500 brothers at one time; most of them are still alive, but some have fallen asleep.Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles.Last of all, as to one abnormally born, He also appeared to me.For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.But by God’s grace I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not ineffective. However, I worked more than any of them, yet not I, but God’s grace that was with me.Therefore, whether it is I or they, so we proclaim and so you have believed.

For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return there without saturating the earth and making it germinate and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat,so My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.”
