蓋爾尚屬形軀、爾中有媢嫉爭鬥、豈非屬形軀、效世人而行乎、

爾曹尚從欲、有媢嫉、爭鬥、釁隙、豈非從欲而狥人意乎、

蓋爾尚為屬肉者、爾中有娼嫉、爭鬥、釁隙、豈爾非屬肉、循人意而行乎、

蓋依然未脫本性也。爾中一日有相妒相爭之事、即一日未克進於超性之境、而脫盡世俗之習。

You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?

You are still following the ways of the world. Some of you are jealous. Some of you argue. So aren’t you following the ways of the world? Aren’t you acting like ordinary human beings?

for you are still controlled by your sinful nature. You are jealous of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn’t that prove you are controlled by your sinful nature? Aren’t you living like people of the world?

because you are still worldly. For since there is envy and strife among you, are you not worldly and behaving like mere humans?

for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like ordinary people?

for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

for ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you jealousy and strife, are ye not carnal, and do ye not walk after the manner of men?

because you are still fleshly. For since there is envy and strife among you, are you not fleshly and living like unbelievers?

For ye are yet carnal: for whereas[ there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

for you are still influenced by the flesh. For since there is still jealousy and dissension among you, are you not influenced by the flesh and behaving like unregenerate people?

for you are still fleshly. For insofar as there is jealousy, strife, and factions among you, aren’t you fleshly, and don’t you walk in the ways of men?

For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.

For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you. And I believe it in part,

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.

What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you?You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask.

For I fear that perhaps when I come I may find you not as I wish, and that you may find me not as you wish— that perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder.

But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.

For it has been reported to me by Chloe’s people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers.

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires,and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.

When one of you has a grievance against another, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints?Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases?Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!So if you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who have no standing in the church?I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to settle a dispute between the brothers,but brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?To have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?But you yourselves wrong and defraud— even your own brothers!

Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.

But like Adam they transgressed the covenant; there they dealt faithlessly with me.

For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.
