吾不以私智婉言、惟以聖神之良能傳道、

且我講論宣傳、非以人智之婉言而辯、乃以聖神之大能而證、

蓋予之談吐及論道、非恃人智之巧言妙語、惟恃神力之明徵、

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power,

I didn’t preach my message with clever and compelling words. Instead, my preaching showed the Holy Spirit’s power.

and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit.

And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:of sin, because they believe not on me;of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye behold me no more;of judgment, because the prince of this world hath been judged.I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, these shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come.He shall glorify me: for he shall take of mine, and shall declare it unto you.All things whatsoever the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he taketh of mine, and shall declare it unto you.

They have seen falsehood and lying divination, that say, Jehovah saith; but Jehovah hath not sent them: and they have made men to hope that the word would be confirmed.

With her much fair speech she causeth him to yield; With the flattering of her lips she forceth him along.

And Jehovah said unto him, Wherewith?And he said, I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt entice him, and shalt prevail also: go forth, and do so.

And Agrippa said unto Paul, With but little persuasion thou wouldest fain make me a Christian.

And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson’s wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father’s house with fire: have ye called us to impoverish us? is it not so?

He that goeth about as a tale- bearer revealeth secrets; Therefore company not with him that openeth wide his lips.

For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, say all my familiar friends, they that watch for my fall; peradventure he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.

And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak thou good.And Micaiah said, As Jehovah liveth, what Jehovah saith unto me, that will I speak.
