I shall ransom them from the power of Sheol; I shall redeem them from Death. O Death, where are your plagues? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion is hidden from my eyes.

What man can live and never see death? Who can deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah

Then I said in my heart,“ What happens to the fool will happen to me also. Why then have I been so very wise?” And I said in my heart that this also is vanity.For of the wise as of the fool there is no enduring remembrance, seeing that in the days to come all will have been long forgotten. How the wise dies just like the fool!

Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.

And he said,“ Who are you, Lord?” And he said,“ I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.

for the ransom of their life is costly and can never suffice,that he should live on forever and never see the pit.For he sees that even the wise die; the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others.Their graves are their homes forever, their dwelling places to all generations, though they called lands by their own names.Man in his pomp will not remain; he is like the beasts that perish.This is the path of those who have foolish confidence; yet after them people approve of their boasts. SelahLike sheep they are appointed for Sheol; death shall be their shepherd, and the upright shall rule over them in the morning. Their form shall be consumed in Sheol, with no place to dwell.But God will ransom my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me. Selah

For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption.

No man has power to retain the spirit, or power over the day of death. There is no discharge from war, nor will wickedness deliver those who are given to it.

And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity.

For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten.Their love and their hate and their envy have already perished, and forever they have no more share in all that is done under the sun.

It consumes the parts of his skin; the firstborn of death consumes his limbs.He is torn from the tent in which he trusted and is brought to the king of terrors.

They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people for five months is in their tails.
