I will ransom them from the power of Sheol; I will redeem them from death: O death, where are thy plagues? O Sheol, where is thy destruction? repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

What man is he that shall live and not see death, That shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol?[ Selah

Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so will it happen even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then said I in my heart, that this also is vanity.For of the wise man, even as of the fool, there is no remembrance for ever; seeing that in the days to come all will have been long forgotten. And how doth the wise man die even as the fool!

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the likeness of Adam’s transgression, who is a figure of him that was to come.

Wise men die; The fool and the brutish alike perish, And leave their wealth to others.Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, And their dwelling- places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names.But man being in honor abideth not: He is like the beasts that perish.This their way is their folly: Yet after them men approve their sayings.[ SelahThey are appointed as a flock for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd: And the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall be for Sheol to consume, That there be no habitation for it.But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol; For he will receive me.[ Selah

Because thou wilt not leave my soul unto Hades, Neither wilt thou give thy Holy One to see corruption.

There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power over the day of death; and there is no discharge in war: neither shall wickedness deliver him that is given to it.

And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, even the lake of fire.

For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; and man hath no preeminence above the beasts: for all is vanity.

For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.As well their love, as their hatred and their envy, is perished long ago; neither have they any more a portion for ever in anything that is done under the sun.

The members of his body shall be devoured, Yea, the first- born of death shall devour his members.He shall be rooted out of his tent wherein he trusteth; And he shall be brought to the king of terrors.

And they have tails like unto scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men five months.
