Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven.

“ He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else.

Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.

By the sweat of your brow will you have food to eat until you return to the ground from which you were made. For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return.”

This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel— that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.

Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down( that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.

And this will be his name:‘ The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’ In that day Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in safety.

The Scriptures tell us,“ The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam— that is, Christ— is a life giving Spirit.

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?No one has ever gone to heaven and returned. But the Son of Man has come down from heaven.

The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

The Savior— yes, the Messiah, the Lord— has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!

Notice that it says“ he ascended.” This clearly means that Christ also descended to our lowly world.And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself.Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.

And he will turn many Israelites to the Lord their God.He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.”

“ Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means‘ God is with us.’”
