It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever.

So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;

It will be like that with bodies that are raised from the dead. The body that is planted does not last forever. The body that is raised from the dead lasts forever.

So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable.

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s Kingdom. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!

Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.

the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.

But in the age to come, those worthy of being raised from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage.And they will never die again. In this respect they will be like angels. They are children of God and children of the resurrection.

By the sweat of your brow will you have food to eat until you return to the ground from which you were made. For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return.”

David was looking into the future and speaking of the Messiah’s resurrection. He was saying that God would not leave him among the dead or allow his body to rot in the grave.

For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.

and we have a priceless inheritance— an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.

Like sheep, they are led to the grave, where death will be their shepherd. In the morning the godly will rule over them. Their bodies will rot in the grave, far from their grand estates.

But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.

For God had promised to raise him from the dead, not leaving him to rot in the grave. He said,‘ I will give you the sacred blessings I promised to David.’Another psalm explains it more fully:‘ You will not allow your Holy One to rot in the grave.’This is not a reference to David, for after David had done the will of God in his own generation, he died and was buried with his ancestors, and his body decayed.No, it was a reference to someone else— someone whom God raised and whose body did not decay.

What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed!It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:“ Death is swallowed up in victory.

And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.

Yes, this anguish was good for me, for you have rescued me from death and forgiven all my sins.

What if I call the grave my father, and the maggot my mother or my sister?

to live forever and never see the grave.
