And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith doesn’t mean anything. Your sins have not been forgiven.

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.

For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.Therefore when he comes into the world, he says,“ You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.Then I said,‘ Behold, I have come( in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”Previously saying,“ Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them”( those which are offered according to the law),then he has said,“ Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and often offering the same sacrifices which can never take away sins,but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,

Jesus said therefore again to them,“ I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sins. Where I go, you can’t come.”The Jews therefore said,“ Will he kill himself, because he says,‘ Where I am going, you can’t come’?”He said to them,“ You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.I said therefore to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”

Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins,and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies.Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.

For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.

Many, indeed, have been made priests, because they are hindered from continuing by death.But he, because he lives forever, has his priesthood unchangeable.Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them.For such a high priest was fitting for us: holy, guiltless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;who doesn’t need, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices daily, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. For he did this once for all, when he offered up himself.For the law appoints men as high priests who have weakness, but the word of the oath which came after the law appoints a Son forever who has been perfected.

by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you— unless you believed in vain.

According to the law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.For Christ hasn’t entered into holy places made with hands, which are representations of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest enters into the holy place year by year with blood not his own,or else he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once at the end of the ages, he has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment,so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.

“ You, son of man, tell the house of Israel:‘ You say this,“ Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them. How then can we live?”’
