And we apostles would all be lying about God— for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead.

不但如此，如果死人真地不能得甦活起來的話，那麼我們還要被指為上帝的假證人、作證妄說上帝的呢、說他叫他所沒有甦活起來的基督活了起來！

這樣，我們就被看做是神的假見證人，因為我們見證了有關神的事，說神使基督復活了，如果死人真不會復活，神就沒有使基督復活；

死者不起、則上帝未嘗起基督、而我證其起之、適為妄證於上帝、

死者不甦、則上帝未甦基督、而吾證上帝甦之、則為妄證、

若死者不復活、則天主未使基督復活、而我儕證天主曾使之復活、是我儕為天主妄證矣、

不寧惟是、吾人將為天主之偽證矣。蓋死者苟無復活、則天主實未復活基督、而吾人強為之證曰、天主已復活之矣、是非偽證而何。

We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised.

Moreover, we are found to be false witnesses about God, because we have testified wrongly about God that he raised up Christ— whom he did not raise up, if in fact the dead are not raised.

But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip.

For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either.

“ Are you defending God with lies? Do you make your dishonest arguments for his sake?Will you slant your testimony in his favor? Will you argue God’s case for him?What will happen when he finds out what you are doing? Can you fool him as easily as you fool people?No, you will be in trouble with him if you secretly slant your testimony in his favor.

I have had one message for Jews and Greeks alike— the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God, and of having faith in our Lord Jesus.

“ God raised Jesus from the dead, and we are all witnesses of this.

And do not slant your testimony in favor of a person just because that person is poor.

“ And we apostles are witnesses of all he did throughout Judea and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a cross,but God raised him to life on the third day. Then God allowed him to appear,not to the general public, but to us whom God had chosen in advance to be his witnesses. We were those who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all— the living and the dead.

The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all.

“ But,” someone might still argue,“ how can God condemn me as a sinner if my dishonesty highlights his truthfulness and brings him more glory?”And some people even slander us by claiming that we say,“ The more we sin, the better it is!” Those who say such things deserve to be condemned.

But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.
