吾之得有今日、皆賴天主之寵佑；惟予黽勉勞苦、視他人有過無不及、則未辜負天主之寵佑也。雖然、是亦天主寵佑而已、初非予之功也。

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them— yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,

( for He who was at work for Peter in his apostleship to the circumcised was at work for me also to the Gentiles),

For we do not presume to rank or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they have no understanding.But we will not boast beyond our measure, but within the measure of the domain which God assigned to us as a measure, to reach even as far as you.For we are not overextending ourselves, as if we did not reach to you, for we were the first to come even as far as you in the gospel of Christ;not boasting beyond our measure, that is, in other people’s labors, but with the hope that as your faith grows, we will be, within our domain, enlarged even more by you,so as to preach the gospel even to the regions beyond you, and not to boast in what has been accomplished in the domain of another.

I have become foolish; you yourselves compelled me. Actually I should have been commended by you, since I was in no respect inferior to the most eminent apostles, even though I am a nobody.

so that in the ages to come He might show the boundless riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God.For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed,in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and all around as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.And in this way I aspired to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already known by name, so that I would not build on another person’s foundation;

And working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain—

In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice.But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, since otherwise grace is no longer grace.

by which you also are saved, if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.

For who considers you as superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.

For it is not you who are speaking, but it is the Spirit of your Father who is speaking in you.

I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? Far from it! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

We proclaim Him, admonishing every person and teaching every person with all wisdom, so that we may present every person complete in Christ.For this purpose I also labor, striving according to His power which works mightily within me.

Are they servants of Christ?— I am speaking as if insane— I more so; in far more labors, in far more imprisonments, beaten times without number, often in danger of death.Five times I received from the Jews thirty nine lashes.Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift at sea.I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my countrymen, dangers from the Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among false brothers;I have been in labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure.Apart from such external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches.Who is weak without my being weak? Who is led into sin without my intense concern?If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my weakness.

It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost.Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost sinner Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.
