角聲無定、孰備戰乎、

如吹角而音無別、奚以備戰乎、

若角不發一定之聲、誰備戰乎、

再如吹角、若發音含混不明、其誰復鼓舞精神、從事戰鬥耶？

And when you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the Lord your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies.

And the armed men were walking before them, and the rear guard was walking after the ark of the Lord, while the trumpets blew continually.And the second day they marched around the city once, and returned into the camp. So they did for six days.On the seventh day they rose early, at the dawn of day, and marched around the city in the same manner seven times. It was only on that day that they marched around the city seven times.And at the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people,“ Shout, for the Lord has given you the city.And the city and all that is within it shall be devoted to the Lord for destruction. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall live, because she hid the messengers whom we sent.But you, keep yourselves from the things devoted to destruction, lest when you have devoted them you take any of the devoted things and make the camp of Israel a thing for destruction and bring trouble upon it.But all silver and gold, and every vessel of bronze and iron, are holy to the Lord; they shall go into the treasury of the Lord.”So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they captured the city.

And in that day a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were lost in the land of Assyria and those who were driven out to the land of Egypt will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

And each of the builders had his sword strapped at his side while he built. The man who sounded the trumpet was beside me.And I said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people,“ The work is great and widely spread, and we are separated on the wall, far from one another.In the place where you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us.”So we labored at the work, and half of them held the spears from the break of dawn until the stars came out.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

and if he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the trumpet and warns the people,then if anyone who hears the sound of the trumpet does not take warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life.But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.

And he divided the 300 men into three companies and put trumpets into the hands of all of them and empty jars, with torches inside the jars.And he said to them,“ Look at me, and do likewise. When I come to the outskirts of the camp, do as I do.When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then blow the trumpets also on every side of all the camp and shout,‘ For the Lord and for Gideon.’”
