For if the trumpet give an uncertain voice, who shall prepare himself for war?

若吹无定的号声，谁能预备打仗呢？

号角吹出来的音若不清楚，谁会预备打仗呢？

如果号声不清楚，谁会预备打仗呢？

又如果军号所发的声音不清楚，谁会准备作战呢？

实际上，如果号角发出的声音真的不清楚，谁会准备好出战呢？

若吹無定的號聲，誰能預備打仗呢？

號角吹出來的音若不清楚，誰會預備打仗呢？

號角吹出來的音若不清楚，誰會預備打仗呢？

如果號聲不清楚，誰會預備打仗呢？

又如果軍號所發的聲音不清楚，誰會準備作戰呢？

就是號筒罷、若發出無定的聲音來，誰能豫備出戰呢？

實際上，如果號角發出的聲音真的不清楚，誰會準備好出戰呢？

角聲無定、孰備戰乎、

如吹角而音無別、奚以備戰乎、

若角不發一定之聲、誰備戰乎、

再如吹角、若發音含混不明、其誰復鼓舞精神、從事戰鬥耶？

Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?

Also, if the trumpet call isn’t clear, who will get ready for battle?

And if the bugle gives an indistinct sound, who will get ready for battle?

And if the bugler doesn’t sound a clear call, how will the soldiers know they are being called to battle?

In fact, if the bugle makes an unclear sound, who will prepare for battle?

For if the trumpet produces an indistinct sound, who will prepare himself for battle?

For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle?

In fact, if the trumpet makes an unclear sound, who will prepare for battle?

For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

If, for example, the trumpet makes an unclear sound, who will get ready for battle?

For if the trumpet gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war?

And when ye go to war in your land against the adversary that oppresseth you, then ye shall sound an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before Jehovah your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart; my heart is disquieted in me; I cannot hold my peace; because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage; Neither believeth he that it is the voice of the trumpet.As oft as the trumpet soundeth he saith, Aha! And he smelleth the battle afar off, The thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

Shall the trumpet be blown in a city, and the people not be afraid? shall evil befall a city, and Jehovah hath not done it?

And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.And it shall be, that, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall go up every man straight before him.And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of Jehovah.And they said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let the armed men pass on before the ark of Jehovah.And it was so, that, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before Jehovah passed on, and blew the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah followed them.And the armed men went before the priests that blew the trumpets, and the rearward went after the ark, the priests blowing the trumpets as they went.And Joshua commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.So he caused the ark of Jehovah to compass the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of Jehovah.And the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of Jehovah went on continually, and blew the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; and the rearward came after the ark of Jehovah, the priests blowing the trumpets as they went.And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early at the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for Jehovah hath given you the city.And the city shall be devoted, even it and all that is therein, to Jehovah: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.But as for you, only keep yourselves from the devoted thing, lest when ye have devoted it, ye take of the devoted thing; so would ye make the camp of Israel accursed, and trouble it.But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are holy unto Jehovah: they shall come into the treasury of Jehovah.So the people shouted, and the priests blew the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great trumpet shall be blown; and they shall come that were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and they that were outcasts in the land of Egypt; and they shall worship Jehovah in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

and the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another:in what place soever ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us; our God will fight for us.So we wrought in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared.

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world- rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

if, when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned, and the sword come, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put into the hands of all of them trumpets, and empty pitchers, with torches within the pitchers.And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outermost part of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do.When I blow the trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, For Jehovah and for Gideon.

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of Jehovah cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
