兄弟乎、是當若何、爾既集、或歌詩、或施教、或述啟示、或言方言、或譯方言、皆宜為建德而行、

兄弟乎、事當若何、爾既集、各人或頌詩、或教訓、或言諸國方言、或默示、或譯諸國方言、皆宜行之以輔德、

然則兄弟究應如何？爾等聚會時、各有貢獻、或以聖詠、或以教理、或以啟示、或以方言、或以繙譯；總之、亦在己立立人、己達達人而已矣。

What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.

Brothers and sisters, what should we say then? When you come together, each of you brings something. You bring a hymn or a teaching or a message from God. You bring a message in another language or explain what was said in that language. Everything must be done to build up the church.

What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.

Well, my brothers and sisters, let’s summarize. When you meet together, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in tongues, and another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must strengthen all of you.

What is the outcome then, brothers and sisters? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. All things are to be done for edification.

How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music with your heart to the Lord,

So then, let us pursue what promotes peace and what builds up one another.

A manifestation of the Spirit is given to each person for the common good:to one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit,to another, faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of tongues, to another, interpretation of tongues.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.

From him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building itself up in love by the proper working of each individual part.

This is why I am writing these things while absent, so that when I am there I may not have to deal harshly with you, in keeping with the authority the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.

Have you been thinking all along that we were defending ourselves to you? No, in the sight of God we are speaking in Christ, and everything, dear friends, is for building you up.

So also you— since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek to excel in building up the church.Therefore the person who speaks in a tongue should pray that he can interpret.

But everything is to be done decently and in order.

No foul language should come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear.

If anyone speaks in a tongue, there are to be only two, or at the most three, each in turn, and let someone interpret.

The person who speaks in a tongue builds himself up, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.I wish all of you spoke in tongues, but even more that you prophesied. The person who prophesies is greater than the person who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may be built up.So now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I speak to you with a revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching?
