你們要讓基督的道豐豐富富地住在你們心裡，以各樣的智慧，彼此教導，互相勸戒，用詩章、聖詩、靈歌，懷著感恩的心歌頌神。

然而時候將到，現在就是了，那靠著聖靈按著真理敬拜父的，才是真正敬拜的人；因為父在尋找這樣敬拜他的人。神是靈，敬拜他的必須靠著聖靈按著真理敬拜他。”

藉著各樣的禱告和祈求，隨時在聖靈裡祈禱，並且要在這事上恆久警醒，為眾聖徒祈求。

因此，不要作糊塗人，要明白甚麼是主的旨意。不要醉酒，醉酒能使人放蕩亂性，卻要讓聖靈充滿。應當用詩章、聖詩、靈歌，彼此呼應，口唱心和地讚美主。凡事要奉我們主耶穌基督的名，常常感謝父神，

但你們呢，親愛的，你們要在至聖的信仰上建立自己，在聖靈裡禱告，

所以弟兄們，我憑著神的仁慈勸你們，要把身體獻上，作聖潔而蒙神悅納的活祭；這是你們理所當然的事奉（“理所當然的事奉”或譯：“屬靈的敬拜”）。不要模仿這個世代，倒要藉著心意的更新而改變過來，使你們可以察驗出甚麼是神的旨意，就是察驗出甚麼是美好的、蒙他悅納的和完全的事。

因為神是全地的王，你們要用詩歌歌頌他。

但在教會中，我寧願用理智說五句話去教導人，勝過用方言說萬句話。

我說的是甚麼意思呢？偶像算得甚麼，還是祭過偶像的食物算得甚麼？

我且照著人的見解來說，我們的不義若彰顯神的義，我們可以說甚麼呢？難道降怒的神是不義的嗎？

那有甚麼關係呢？真心也好，假意也好，無論怎麼樣，基督總被傳開了，為此我就歡喜；並且我還要歡喜，

既是這樣，我們對這一切還有甚麼話說呢？神若這樣為我們，誰能敵對我們呢？

我在傳揚他兒子福音的事上，用心靈事奉的神，可以作證我是怎樣不斷地記念你們，
