我雖能言世人及天使之言、若無愛、則如鳴鉦響鈸、

我若能说万人的方言，并天使的话语，却没有爱，我就成了鸣的锣，响的钹一般。

我若能说人间的方言，甚至天使的语言，却没有爱，我就成为鸣的锣、响的钹一般。

我若能言諸國諸天使之言而無愛、則猶鳴金響鈸、

我如能言諸國方言、與天使之言、而無仁、則猶鳴金敲鈸、

使我無愛德、而徒能操萬國之音、作天神之語、則猶鳴鑼擊鈸而已矣。

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

Suppose I speak in the languages of human beings or of angels. If I don’t have love, I am only a loud gong or a noisy cymbal.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

誡命之大旨、愛是也、由清心善意及無偽之信所生、

最要者、惟彼此切愛、蓋愛能掩多罪也、

聖神所結之果、即仁愛、喜樂、和平、忍耐、慈悲、良善、忠信、

雖有先知之明、能探諸奧妙、得諸知識、信德俱備、能以移山、若無愛、則無益、雖傾所有以濟貧、又舍身被焚、若無愛則於我無益、

愛永不隕、但先知講道之能將廢、言方言之能將止、知識亦將廢、

信基督耶穌、受割禮不受割禮皆無益、惟使人行仁愛之信德有益、

論及祭偶像之物、我儕知我眾皆有知識、但知識使人自大、惟愛建德、

兄弟乎、我就爾、若第言方言、而不以默示、或知識、或預言、或教訓勸爾、則於爾何益哉、夫有聲無氣之物、如簫如琴、發音不別、焉知所吹所鼓者何也、若角不發一定之聲、誰備戰乎、

出言矜誇虛誕、以肉體之嗜慾及邪侈之事、誘惑甫脫於妄行之人、

王必謂之曰、我誠告爾、既不行之於此至微者之一、即不行之於我也、

豈皆為使徒乎、皆為先知乎、皆為教師乎、皆得醫病之能乎、皆言方言乎、皆解方言乎、

有人由此神得言有智慧之言、有人由此神得言有知識之言、

若爾因所食、使兄弟憂、則所行不循愛人之道、基督為之死、爾勿以所食而敗之、

彼聞隱秘之言、人所不可道者、

設耳云、我非目、故不屬於身、豈不屬於身乎、
