假使我用人之捲舌頭說話、甚至於用天使的語言來說話，卻沒有愛，我就成了鳴的鑼響的鈸一般。

如果我能說人間和天使的各種殊言，卻沒有愛，我就成了嘈雜的鑼、鳴響的鈸；

我若能言諸國諸天使之言而無愛、則猶鳴金響鈸、

我如能言諸國方言、與天使之言、而無仁、則猶鳴金敲鈸、

我雖能言世人及天使之言、若無愛、則如鳴鉦響鈸、

使我無愛德、而徒能操萬國之音、作天神之語、則猶鳴鑼擊鈸而已矣。

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

Suppose I speak in the languages of human beings or of angels. If I don’t have love, I am only a loud gong or a noisy cymbal.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

Now the goal of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.

Above all, maintain an intense love for each other, since love covers a multitude of sins.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,

If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for languages, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith working through love.

About food offered to idols: We know that“ we all have knowledge.” Knowledge inflates with pride, but love builds up.

But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in other languages, how will I benefit you unless I speak to you with a revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching?Even inanimate things that produce sounds— whether flute or harp— if they don’t make a distinction in the notes, how will what is played on the flute or harp be recognized?In fact, if the trumpet makes an unclear sound, who will prepare for battle?

For by uttering boastful, empty words, they seduce, with fleshly desires and debauchery, people who have barely escaped from those who live in error.

Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all do miracles?Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in other languages? Do all interpret?
