Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be finally condemned with the world.

我们受审的时候，乃是被主惩治，免得我们和世人一同定罪。

When the Lord judges us in this way, he corrects us. Then in the end we will not be judged along with the rest of the world.

But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

Yet when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along with the world.

but when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined, so that we may not be condemned with the world.

And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,“ My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?If you are not disciplined— and everyone undergoes discipline— then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live!They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.

Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.

My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke,because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.

Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord, the one you teach from your law;you grant them relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked.

That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.

“ Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures, but his hands also heal.

Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.

Why should you be beaten anymore? Why do you persist in rebellion? Your whole head is injured, your whole heart afflicted.

She obeys no one, she accepts no correction. She does not trust in the Lord, she does not draw near to her God.

Therefore say to them,‘ This is the nation that has not obeyed the Lord its God or responded to correction. Truth has perished; it has vanished from their lips.

“ Suppose someone says to God,‘ I am guilty but will offend no more.Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not do so again.’

to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword.“ Or someone may be chastened on a bed of pain with constant distress in their bones,so that their body finds food repulsive and their soul loathes the choicest meal.Their flesh wastes away to nothing, and their bones, once hidden, now stick out.They draw near to the pit, and their life to the messengers of death.Yet if there is an angel at their side, a messenger, one out of a thousand, sent to tell them how to be upright,and he is gracious to that person and says to God,‘ Spare them from going down to the pit; I have found a ransom for them—let their flesh be renewed like a child’s; let them be restored as in the days of their youth’—then that person can pray to God and find favor with him, they will see God’s face and shout for joy; he will restore them to full well- being.And they will go to others and say,‘ I have sinned, I have perverted what is right, but I did not get what I deserved.God has delivered me from going down to the pit, and I shall live to enjoy the light of life.’“ God does all these things to a person— twice, even three times—to turn them back from the pit, that the light of life may shine on them.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
