For this reason, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord i n an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

凡食主餅、飲主杯、而不合宜者、即干主身與血也、

凡食此餅、飲此杯、不合其宜者、是負主身主血者也、

故凡不合宜而食此餅飲主之杯者、即干主之體主之血矣、

故凡輕率冒昧、妄食聖餅、妄領聖爵者、則褻瀆聖體與聖血矣。

So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

Eat the bread or drink the cup of the Lord in the right way. Don’t do it in a way that isn’t worthy of him. If you do, you will be guilty. You’ll be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord.

So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

So, then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sin against the body and blood of the Lord.

Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy way, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

Wherefore whosoever shall eat the bread or drink the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy way will be guilty of sin against the body and blood of the Lord.

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink[ this] cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord’s cup in a way unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread he will live forever. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot take part in the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

“ Tell the Israelites,‘ If any of you or of your posterity become ceremonially defiled by touching a dead body, or are on a journey far away, then he may observe the Passover to the LORD.

But when the king came in to see the wedding guests, he saw a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes.

How much greater punishment do you think that person deserves who has contempt for the Son of God, and profanes the blood of the covenant that made him holy, and insults the Spirit of grace?

But the man who is ceremonially clean, and was not on a journey, and fails to keep the Passover, that person must be cut off from his people. Because he did not bring the LORD’s offering at its appointed time, that man must bear his sin.

The Spirit is the one who gives life; human nature is of no help! The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.But there are some of you who do not believe.”( For Jesus had already known from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)

“ What I am saying does not refer to all of you. I know the ones I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the scripture,‘ The one who eats my bread has turned against me.’I am telling you this now, before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe that I am he.I tell you the solemn truth, whoever accepts the one I send accepts me, and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”When he had said these things, Jesus was greatly distressed in spirit, and testified,“ I tell you the solemn truth, one of you will betray me.”The disciples began to look at one another, worried and perplexed to know which of them he was talking about.One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved, was at the table to the right of Jesus in a place of honor.So Simon Peter gestured to this disciple to ask Jesus who it was he was referring to.Then the disciple whom Jesus loved leaned back against Jesus’ chest and asked him,“ Lord, who is it?”Jesus replied,“ It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread after I have dipped it in the dish.” Then he dipped the piece of bread in the dish and gave it to Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son.And after Judas took the piece of bread, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him,“ What you are about to do, do quickly.”

Then Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, each took his fire pan and put fire in it, set incense on it, and presented strange fire before the LORD, which he had not commanded them to do.So fire went out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them so that they died before the LORD.Moses then said to Aaron,“ This is what the LORD spoke:‘ Among the ones close to me I will show myself holy, and in the presence of all the people I will be honored.’” So Aaron kept silent.

The majority of the many people from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun were ceremonially unclean, yet they ate the Passover in violation of what is prescribed in the law. For Hezekiah prayed for them, saying:“ May the LORD, who is good, forgiveeveryone who has determined to follow God, the LORD God of his ancestors, even if he is not ceremonially clean according to the standards of the temple.”The LORD responded favorably to Hezekiah and forgave the people.
