晚餐畢、復舉爵曰：『此爵乃吾新約之盟血、為爾傾流者也。

且其所以為新約之仲介者、亦欲以一己之死、贖人於舊約下所犯之眾罪、而令蒙召者得承受所許之永遠基業耳。新約乃最後之遺囑也、既云遺囑、則立遺囑者必有一死、死而後其遺囑始生效、未有其人尚存、而其遺囑已生效者。因此之故、即舊約之成立、亦未始無血。摩西既將律法之諸誡、當眾宣讀乃取水與牛犢山羊之血、束朱絨於蘆葦、以血與水灑於其書、及眾民之身、而告之曰：『此乃天主所命與爾眾結約之盟血也。』

願平安之天主、曩憑永約之血、使吾主耶穌基督自死者中復活、而為群羊之大牧者、

不寧惟是、使吾儕足以任新約之役者、亦惟天主而已。此約也、非本乎文字、乃本乎聖神。蓋文字乃肅殺之具、而聖神則生命之源也。

夫吾人所聖之寶爵、非吾人共飲之基督聖血乎？吾人所分之餅、又非吾人共領之基督聖體乎？

然若輩已冥頑成心、而不可感化矣。即在今日、讀舊約時、此帕猶依然未揭；而不知舊約已因基督而廢棄矣。

故凡輕率冒昧、妄食聖餅、妄領聖爵者、則褻瀆聖體與聖血矣。務必正心誠意、深自反省、然後可食斯餅、而領斯爵。
